SupeRoleModels Foundation (previously Models against addictions) is A 501(c)3.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to end the stigma of addictions and mental illnesses, integrate meditation and yoga for a balanced and un-dependent life, and support research on the behavioral causes, consequences, prevention and treatment of drug abuse and addictions.

WHY ARE WE CHANGING THE STIGMA?

Addiction is still perceived as a moral failing by the general public, and is neglected from legal and administrative authorities and society. Stigma is one of the meanest and most difficult aspects of addiction, because it makes it harder for individuals, friends, and families to deal with their problems and get the help they need.

WHY MEDITATION

Meditation (breath work) is a yogic science that helps ease mental health conditions and addictive behaviors.
It helps individuals to remain calm, be non-reactive in challenging situations, detach from thoughts and impulses, reduce cravings and prevent relapse.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We integrate a loving and holistic approach to changing the stigma of addictions and mental illnesses and provide support, recovery, and empowerment programs.

We have created the #undependent word because we find it to be more loving than the word “addiction”.
On the 11th day of each month, we encourage everyone to examine their lives, identify and stop their various dependencies for 24 hours and celebrate freedom from bad habits and addictions.
The goal of the #undependent campaign is to raise awareness of the struggle individuals with addictions face each day.

WHY SUPPORT US?

Only 20% of the population with addictions and mental illnesses asks for help.
We still have a social denial of open discussion and a heinous stigma. We believe that by removing the stigma we can save lives.
It’s time to transform the “difficult” into “important“.

This is our moment in expanding human consciousness, awareness and taking a stand for each other's deepest pains and showing up for literally everyone.

Your voice and involvement can help people you love.
